DO YOU HAVE A KID WHO LOVES MUSIC?

DO YOU WISH YOU COULD BE SPENDING MORE TIME WITH THEM AND BE MORE INVOLVED IN THEIR INTERESTS?

IMG_20190108_123511_625.jpg

As a trained and passionate music teacher, I have parents bringing their kids into my studio for lessons week after week, and I really admire this.

I have even greater admiration for the parents who are more hands on and invested; they come to watch lessons, not just drop off, they help their child practice at home, and they listen when their kid tells them about their exciting new songs.  They want to be a part of what their child loves, and they show their kid this.

I love watching the happiness a student feels when their parents are with them while they play, and I love the pride and joy on their parents’ faces.

I also get to experience something else incredible...

As soon as a student plays a song they just mastered, I see them LIGHT UP with wonder. I see them look at their watching parent with enthusiasm in their eyes.

I get such fulfillment from watching my students accomplish each new musical skill, and I wanted to be able to bridge the gap and allow parents and students (their kids) to have this experience TOGETHER!

I can attest there is no feeling like it, and I want to give YOU that feeling,
except a million times better, because your experience will have the added power
of your parent and kid relationship.

KNOW NOTHING ABOUT MUSIC?

Not a problem…

If your kid loves music and you wish you could be part of it with them, I’ve designed this program specifically to teach YOU the basics and then teach YOU how to teach them.

You’ll get to experience the growth of learning a brand new art with your child and be involved in every step of their passion.

Teach Your Kid Guitar is an 8 Phase beginning guitar co-learning course,
teaching you the basics of guitar so you can become the music teacher
for your child and enjoy something they love together.

From beginning to end, it’s designed with you in mind… an excited, loving parent.  (Even if you have no experience with guitars!)

YOU’LL LEARN HOW TO PLAY AND HOW TO HELP YOUR CHILD GET TO PLAYING!  THIS COURSE IS FOR THE PARENTS WHO WOULD RATHER DO WHAT YOUR KID LOVES WITH THEM THAN SEND THEM TO SOMEONE ELSE FOR MUSIC LESSONS, WHILE YOU HAVE NO INVOLVEMENT OR KNOWLEDGE OF WHAT’S GOING ON.  WITH TEACH YOUR KID GUITAR,

YOU HAVE THE CHANCE TO BE INVESTED AND PRESENT FOR THE WHOLE PROCESS AND EXCITING JOURNEY, AS IT UNFOLDS FOR YOUR CHILD.

YOU WILL GET TO WATCH THEIR LEARNING PROGRESS AND SEE THEIR JOYS AND TRIUMPHS.

YOU WILL BE THE ONE RECEIVING THE PROUD NEW-SONG LOOKS, HAPPY DANCES, AND EXCITED HIGH FIVES. (TRULY ONE OF MY FAVORITE PARTS OF MY JOB!)

THIS IS SUCH AN INCREDIBLE OPPORTUNITY TO GET CLOSER WITH YOUR CHILD, SPEND MORE QUALITY TIME, AND CONNECT OVER SOMETHING YOU’VE DONE TOGETHER!

AND USING TEACH YOUR KID GUITAR, YOU’LL SHOW YOUR KID WHAT’S IMPORTANT TO THEM IS ALSO IMPORTANT TO YOU.

HERE’S HOW IT WORKS

This is a crash course for becoming a great music teacher for your kid, from the ground up.

Since you’re brand new to guitar, the entire course is geared for helping you understand the basics.  It doesn’t matter if you’ve never held a guitar before; I’ll show you what everything means, how to tune your instrument, how to read sheet music, how to play… and how to show it all to your eager little student!

I take you through 8 essential phases...

PHASE ONE - Hello, Music!

You will begin your musical journey!  This is where we’ll...

  • Learn how to tune your guitar and how to teach your student to do it too, so your strings sound awesome every time you play.

  • Get a complete guide key to guitar part names so you can easily pick up instructions throughout the course.

  • Get your fingers moving around your instrument so you’ll have the motions and mechanics down to learn notes and songs.

  • Dive into the musical alphabet so you can start recognizing note names and learning how to play along with other musicians.

  • Go through sheet music 101 -- we’ll get you started reading this foreign music language!

PHASE TWO - The Melody Begins

You’ll learn your first notes and tunes!

  • Learn how to play tunes on the first string so you can start bringing music to life yourself and hearing your new notes in action ASAP!

  • Get correct finger placement so you can build good groundwork habits and actually hear the sounds you want out of the guitar.

  • Hear and memorize your first three note names and locations, to begin building your guitar work, songs, and music vocabulary.

  • Figure out how each note is written -- this is more of that note reading!  Foreign language, here you come. :)

PHASE THREE - Your First Verses

You’ll add new notes and another string!

  • Get the same instruction, musician skills, and hands on practice with string two as you did with string one, so you can double your note library and play more songs.

  • Rock out to more new practices and songs, now with two strings, so you can feel the growing sense of accomplishment, motivation, and excitement.

PHASE FOUR - The Music Builds

You will master two more notes on a new string!  And you’ll learn your first chords!

  • Build on your solid start, adding the third string, so you have more notes in your toolbox.  This is the halfway string!

  • Learn more new songs so your music can get bigger and more exciting with three strings!

  • Make your very first chords + get the introduction to strumming so you can start dreaming about what kind of music you want to learn!  Are you going for the Taylor Swift songs? Twenty One Pilots? Old country? AC/DC? Your chord song journey all starts here, with the first chord!

PHASE FIVE - Getting Louder

You’ll accomplish more notes AND chords!

  • Acquire three new notes, on the fourth string, so your music can keep gaining variety and fun.  That’s four out of six! You’re over fifty percent!

  • Have a blast with even more new exercises and songs -- I repeat, four strings!  You and your student will be feeling like rock stars.

  • Still planning out your chord song list?  We’ll add more chords to your practicing so you can keep getting closer to your Christina Perri, Johnny Cash, and Disney goals.

  • And get new chord progressions to give you a pathway to those dreams.

PHASE SIX - Hear the Music

You’ll understand and play the fifth string, new chords, and a chord song!

  • Get three notes on the fifth string so your music can take on even richer, deeper tones, and you can have a huge span of notes.

  • Keep your chord repertoire growing so you can play interesting and favorite music.

  • AND play your first actual chord song! (*cue happy high fives and dance parties!*)

PHASE SEVEN - Take a Solo

You will pick up the sixth and final string!!! (Look at you learning the entire home position on guitar!)  Plus more great chord work.

  • Tackle your final three notes, on the sixth and last string, with all the bells and whistles of the previous strings.  Now you and your kid are really flying!

  • Dig into new exercises and six-string note songs with triumph and cheer because you’re doing it!  You’ve really become guitar players!

  • Strengthen the chords you’ve already learned by strumming great practice progressions, plus more chording and an all new chord song to hear them pop to life.

PHASE EIGHT - Your Symphony Finale

You’ll play your grand finale work!  (After this you may need an ice cream party and jam session to celebrate together!)

  • Launch into some exciting last songs -- the most complicated and gratifying ones you’ve learned yet because YOU, superstars that you are, now know all six strings of your guitar.

  • Recap everything you’ve learned and all the awesome work you’ve done with pride because a great accomplishment should be commemorated!

Hi, I’m Bri!

I’m a music lover and teacher, and I’m super passionate about plugging people into doing what they love and making friends while doing it. I’m a bubbly, joyful optimist, with a regularly-recurring sunny smile. I started my own music lesson studio when I was 18; it’s been growing ever since. I love what I do and love sharing it with others!

I’ve taught dozens and dozens of students of all ages, from 4 to 90, and it’s thanks to this that I’ve learned a ton about music and how to teach it to all different students. One of my favorite parts of my job are my interactions with all ages, and the variety that gives me in explaining music in entirely different ways. I love finding analogies and connecting points for my 7 year olds and then totally different ones for my 40 year olds.

THROUGH MY EXPERIENCES AS A MUSIC TEACHER, I’VE OBSERVED ALL THESE PARENTS COMING INTO THE STUDIO WHO WOULD LOVE TO BE MORE INVOLVED IN THEIR KID’S PASSION FOR MUSIC IF THEY KNEW HOW, SO I WANTED TO TAKE WHAT I KNOW AND WHAT I’VE SEEN TO GIVE YOU A WAY TO DO EXACTLY THAT!

My daughter has been taking keyboard lessons from Bri for about 4 months. She has learned so much in such a short amount of time. Bri is very fun and patient with the young children. Her knowledge of music shows in her confidence and her unique ways of teaching.

Bri is patient and willing. She is a great teacher, but I guess there are many good teachers to choose from. The thing I love most about Bri is her joy. She is always happy and always excited to see her students grow. She truly loves music, and it shows through her teaching. She is passionate about sharing her gift... Bri has helped me learn to play the guitar, but she has also become my friend. I am so grateful that I found her. Not only because I’m finally learning something I’ve wanted to for so long but because she is such an amazing person.
